St Kitts and Nevis’ Model Tourism Reopening
The twin-island federation of St Kitts and Nevis officially reopened its borders for International tourism on Oct. 31, and in the last three months has helped set an example to the rest of the region on how to undertake a safe tourism reopening amid the challenges of the pandemic. Which international destinations are reopening to tourists?
Although many governments are still advising against “nonessential” international travel, a host of popular destinations are beginning to ease their Covid-19 lockdown measures and border restrictions and are moving toward welcoming tourists back.
The British Virgin Islands Is Easing Restrictions for Vaccinated Travelers
Another Caribbean destination has announced eased restrictions for vaccinated travelers: the British Virgin Islands. Beginning May 15, the British Virgin Islands will be reducing its quarantine period for fully vaccinated travelers. Fully vaccinated travelers will have to take a test upon arrival; once they get a negative test result (typically within 24 hours), they’ll be free to roam the BVI — and can forego the four-day quarantine for non-vaccinated travelers.
