BRAZIL REOPENING BORDERS FOR TOURISM
Brazil has officially reopened its borders for international tourism, effective immediately, July 29, 2020. In a complete surprise move, Brazil’s government made the decision to lift the current travel ban that has been in place since March. The current ban was set to expire at midnight on July 29th at midnight, and most believed it would be extended due to the epidemiological situation.
Malaysia Airlines Begins To Reinstate International Flights
Beginning July, Malaysia Airlines will increase international connectivity, as other nations start reopening borders. The flag carrier will resume flights to destinations in Asia, Australia, and Europe. Following the state’s announcement on June 7th to relax interstate travel, the airline will also resume domestic flights this month.
Thailand general tourism closed until March 2021
Minister for Sports and Tourism, Pipat Ratchakitprakan, has announced that Thailand’s tourism is close until the second quarter of next year. This means that other tourist visas, such as e-Visa and visa-on-arrival, apart from the new TR and STV visa will still be on hold for now. This move thwarted the hopes of a turnaround in the tourism industry for the 2020/2021 high season.
