Spring fever…a desire to be outside, to hear the birds sing, to see the flowers bloom, to have fun, and to feel alive! Who doesn’t love spring? With its location on the equator, Quito is known as the city of eternal spring, as it’s like spring all year long! And Monograms makes it easy for you to travel there—any time—since we’ve handled all the travel details for you. On this 9-day vacation package, we’ve arranged your hotel and cruise accommodations (including porterage), most of your meals, sightseeing, and private airport transfers for your intra-vacation flights. Plus, to ensure your vacation is everything you want it to be, we’ve arranged the services of a Monograms Local Host®, a local expert in Quito to answer your questions, offer suggestions, and help you feel right at home.

Your vacation begins the moment you arrive in Quito, where your Local Host will greet you with a warm welcome and present you with materials to help you get settled. The next day, after your included breakfast, Monograms will pick you up at your hotel for your private, guided sightseeing with a local expert—someone who knows the fascinating history of this city and will show you its famous sights. Then you’re off to Baltra Island, where you’ll board the Eclipse for your 5-night Galápagos Islands cruise. Accompanied by a Naturalist—an expert who will answer your questions, point out wildlife, and make you feel at home—you’ll visit the following islands: North Seymour, South Plaza, Santa Fé, San Cristobal, Floreana, Isabela, and Santa Cruz.

On North Seymour Island, home to the largest colony of magnificent frigatebirds in the Galápagos, a walk with your Naturalist will give you the opportunity to observe blue-footed boobies, magnificent and great frigatebirds, land iguanas, sea lions, and swallow-tailed gulls. On South Plaza Island, witness some of the smallest land iguanas in the archipelago, one of the largest colonies of sea lions, a large opuntia cactus forest, and more. On Santa Fé Island, in addition to seeing the Galápagos hawk and Galápagos mockingbird, you may have the opportunity to experience playful sea lions that usually join swimmers and kayakers during beach time.

San Cristobal Island offers you amazing views from your hike up Punta Pitt, the only place in the Galápagos where you can see all three varieties of boobies—red-footed, blue-footed, and Nazca—nesting together. Enjoy snorkeling with sea lions and other marine life at Cerro Brujo, famous for its coral-sand beach and for being the first place visited by Charles Darwin. On Floreana Island, snorkel with sea turtles; visit Post Office Bay, home of one of the first “post offices;” and watch flamingos, pintail ducks, stilts, and more at Punta Cormorant. Next up is Isabela Island, where you’ll look for sea turtles, rays, flightless cormorants, and penguins as you snorkel or take a panga. The lava rocks on Punta Moreno will give you a chance to see flamingos, land iguanas, reef sharks, and more.

Your final stop is Santa Cruz Island, where you’ll visit the Charles Darwin Research Station to see giant tortoises and to learn about the Galápagos conservation efforts. Before flying back to Guayaquil, where your vacation ends, you’ll also visit a tortoise reserve to see these creatures in the wild, a perfect way to conclude your amazing Galápagos experience!

Don’t forget, we’ve handled all the logistics for you, including your transportation, meals, and sightseeing. That way, you can just sit back, relax, and enjoy this trip of a lifetime!
