”La dolce vita”, means “the sweet life” in Italian and when you travel with Monograms to Rome & Sicily you’ll be living “la dolce vita” throughout your entire 7- day vacation. That’s because we’ve arranged for your sightseeing to include the famous ancient ruins plus many other must-see sights. But that’s not all…we’ve also included daily breakfast, hotel reservations, transportation between the cities, and transfers to/from your hotel to/from the Sicily airport. Plus, you’ll have the services of a Local Host® in each city, so you won’t feel alone and will have someone to guide you and answers questions.

As soon as you arrive, your vacation begins. On your first day in Rome, you’ll meet your Local Host, who will help you get settled, provide you with materials to familiarize you with the city, and answer any questions you may have. The next morning, after an included breakfast, you’ll be picked up at your hotel and given an exclsuve sightseeing tour with a local expert. You’ll hear the inside stories when you visit the ancient Colosseum, the amphitheater used for deadly gladiatorial contests and public spectacles; and the Roman Forum, the political, social, and commercial center during the Roman Empire. You’ll also visit the Vatican Museums; Sistine Chapel, world-famous for Michelangelo’s ceiling paintings; and St. Peter’s Square and Basilica. Each of the inside visits includes VIP access, so you’ll spend your time in awe gazing at the artwork and structures rather than waiting in line. In your free time, perhaps visit Tivoli, where Emperor Hadrian built his villa in the 2nd century; tour the Jewish Ghetto; or visit Pompeii, the preserved town buried in 79 AD by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius.

Then you are off to Sicily, the largest island in the Mediterranean. Your Local Host will escort you to the airport, so you can relax and enjoy the journey. Your included sightseeing tour of picturesque Taormina features the Greek-Roman Amphitheater, built in the 3rd century BC and still used today. In your free time, perhaps visit the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, built during the 6th and 5th centuries BC, or enjoy a sunset at Mt. Etna, Europe’s largest active volcano. Be sure to ask your Local Host for suggestions on where to find local specialties.

Did we mention we’ve included your transportation between Rome and Sicily? With the sightseeing we’ve included, and the transfers, all the details are taken care of for you. That doesn’t even include the time savings and personal assistance you’ll receive. So all you have to do is pack your bags and live “la dolce vita!”
