Arrive in Tel Aviv, Israel, and meet your Tour Director and fellow travelers. Travel through the ancient ports of Jaffa and Caesarea, where you visit the Roman amphitheater and the impressive Crusader fortress. Also visit the archaeological site of Megiddo, Muhraqa on Mount Carmel, and stop in Haifa for an overnight stay. The following day, visit the Mount of Beatitudes and attend Mass. Next up: Capernaum, home to a number of apostles. See the ancient synagogue and the House of St. Peter before heading for Tabgha, where Jesus is said to have fed the 5,000 with two fish and five loaves. In Nazareth, visit the Church of the Annunciation. Continue to Cana, the reputed site of Jesus’ first miracle—turning water into wine at a wedding feast. On to Gideon’s Spring and Bet She’an, one of the world’s best-preserved Roman cities. Via ancient Jericho, continue to Bethlehem, birthplace of Jesus and King David, where you visit the Church of the Nativity and attend Mass. Arrive in Jerusalem for a 3-night stay. Explore the Old Town during a guided walking tour, including visits to the Mount of Olives; the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus prayed before his arrest; the Wailing Wall; the Garden Tomb; and the Dome of the Rock. Also walk along the Via Dolorosa, following the Stations of the Cross. A full day at leisure allows time to join an optional excursion to Masada and the Dead Sea. Return to Jerusalem for an overnight before crossing into Jordan. Here, enjoy stops in Bethany Beyond the Jordan, the place where Christians believe that Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist, and ancient Madaba, the “City of Mosaics,” via Mount Nebo. Arrive in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Petra, where you walk down the Siq, the narrow gorge made famous in the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and stand in awe of the iconic Treasury. Travel north to Jordanian capital Amman and enjoy an excursion to Jerash, one of the best-preserved Greco-Roman ruins in the Middle East, as well as Ajloun and Anjara, where Jesus, his disciples, and the Virgin Mary rested in a cave as they traveled between Jerusalem and Galilee. Via Umm Qais, site of the Gadarene swine miracle, return to Amman for a final overnight. </BR>
